I attended c1 in Ft worth Texas for 4 weeks most of the instructors were good Robby and Dawayne were great at what they do .when it came time to start driving my instructor Gerald was not very talkative which made me uncomfortable ,i would look over at Gerald he would just be staring at me,.gerald needs to be fired ,i made several complaints to Tomas the manager of the yard that i would like a new driving instructor he would not allow me that so i decided i would drop the program...I. do not recommend this school,i was very disappointed in how Tomas handled my situation ,Tomas told me that he only had automatic trucks.

I attended the Ft Wayne location in 2013 thru USA trucking. I live 8hrs away from Ft Wayne and I drove myself out prepared for everything.

When go over there paperwork make sure you read everything small print and have an attorney review it. I spent 5 weeks at this place and I passed on my 4th attempt. First time I failed on the parallel parking, Second time parallel and third time hit the curb. But I got thru it.

Get my 200.00 which was a joke that didn't cover fuel nor food. I spent 1 week at home and take 8hr bus ride to Columbus Ohio for USA trucking orientation this when things got really bad after the 2 day orientation we come in with are gear and go back to the hotel for 3 weeks plus getting$20.00 a day pier diem. Several of us multiple times a day called Driver's Solutions and USA trucking and got absolutely nowhere. Well being that I have bills to pay and a family.

Drivers Solutions absolutely refused to help with anything and leaving voided there stupid *** contract. My wife even called these *** they were nothing but rude. The decision was made to leave I couldn't afford to sit any longer so I left Columbus and went home on a bus. I get home and told them that I was gonna to work for swift they didn't like it one bit blah blah blah of the contract.

I said your not helping one bit and hung up. I stayed with swift for awhile and it just didn't work out with having young kids. I'm still trucking but I learned a lot more without this pathetic company.

I'm gonna throw this out there over the years this place has had over 12,500 law suits against former students and I have another court date with these pathetic people again. I'd be thrilled if this company would just close

It's was *** and bad instructors

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They are one of the worse CDL training programs I have ever seen lack of instructions the instructor wasn't even a class room instructor and wasn't qualified for it they forced you to go take your tests at the DMV the 3 day of class didn't teach you anything it was every man for themselves. I got fed up and now I am on my own doing my training for my CDL thanks to them it was just an all around *** hole.

How c1 try to make you fail the last exam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Now being a seasoned driver, they move the rear tandems so that the truck responds differently on your test making minorities fail. During class I passed every maneuver during the 5week training. I observed the tandems on my trailer i drove daily. I aced the maneuvers on the day of my test I noticed my tandems were moved up tremendously, the wheels where set differently. the other nationalities the tandems were set like the ones we were taught in. I and many friends failed that test. I told them i wanted my wheels like they were when i learned. They moved them and I passed and was immediately sent home and wasn't able to let anyone know.

Got my CDL in spite of limited hours driving.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The school is not bad despite some organizational challenges. Yes, there could be perfect trainers, but the instructors are human too. The equipment is adequate despite being older. And management DID work to correct misbehaviors on the part of both the students (hotel nonsense) and the instructors (firing for the big stuff and counselling for the smaller stuff). Students were thrown out for major infractions unrelated to learning how to drive safely. FAR more drive time is needed for EVERYONE, but the experience level, skill, and background of each student should have been assessed day one. In my case, it should not have taken 6-7 weeks to get to a road skills test date for someone who walked in the door WITH a VALID CLP, and physical, who knew how to straight-line back and roughly knew how to offset back. This situation was created by C1's practice of testing EVERYONE, ready or not, at about 6 weeks, after 1 & 1/2 to 2 weeks in an assigned truck, then re-testing with little additional training until passing or repeated failure. This clogged up the flow of students into the available trucks. To the schools credit, they recycle students (details are unknown) to get retrained. But it seems that only current CDL holders that merely needed missing endorsements got the benefit of advanced placement. I was in no position to buy or rent a $250000 truck to test on, and after spending a whole day watching at least 9 other students from other organizations and schools fail to pass the 'Pre-trip Inspection' (didn't even get to start their engine) I appreciated the knowledge passed on to me by all the instructors and the constraints we all had to work under (i.e., limited trucks, instructors, school hours, leadership challenges, etc.). So I recommend the school with the warning that you go into this with your eyes wide open. I suggest that any other school would be the same.

No one is on the same page. Rick is piece of ***.

Has no clue what the *** is goin on with DPS or his Job. I don't know how he's in that position. Gerald is the white man's ***. Ron is so full of himself hates to be told he's wrong.

The *** with his bible "pre-trip" bs because every instructor had there way to pass. Bob and Rolan are the only ones who know there stuff. It's not 3-4weeks course. More like 5-8weeks.

Good luck trying to get paid after you been here 2 weeks. The yard is horrible where you do your skills. The trucks are in bad condition but if your lucky your instructor will get your truck ready for your road test. Omg.

What a *** mess here in Benbrook. The President and CEO need to get down here and put a boot in Freddy and Ricks ***.

Heres another one. The first week of school.

The instructor would flirt with the ladies until he found out 1 of them were married. All he would talk about is his boat and red haven bar. Always inviting us to go. This school in Ft.Wort Texas and had to drive to Benbrook for our traing.

If were late once by 2 min the instructor would lock the door.

3 time is u were late even if it wasnt ur fault bc of traffic or emergency your done. They will send u home.

True. Eric is a pos.

He screwed me 9n my testing. Lie after lie after lie. He wouldnt even scheduale for testing. He said all testing was filled up.

And yet I couldnt finish out the school. The traing sucked and was horrible. I learned nothing. We had about 10-12 per truck.

All the instructors did were make you learn on your own and if you got it wong they would yell at you. Eric was no help. All he would say is im buzy or please come back later. Eric ignored us alot.

This school is a joke. Then theyvwould move us around with no no training and never helped us.

Even most of the instructors said c1 sucked. Were just here for the money.

Your exactly right luckily I had some experience and passed and got my license but yes this place is a joke

C1 worked for me

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
When I arrived at c1 Indy there was 4 inches of snow and the temperature never got above 27 degrees the 3 weeks I was there. Despite that I was outside everyday after school working on my pretrip then would go back to the hotel and work in my room every night. Others in my class acted like it was a vacation and would never put forth the effort to pass and failed putting the blame on everyone except themselves. It was hard work for me to pass and obtain my cdl because I was never good at school. But c1 provided me with all the knowledge I needed to succeed, but don't go there expecting them to hold your hand, you are a adult and you will have to work to be successful.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I'm currently with C1 they have been very disorganized are clueless about the new changes with DPS. There trucks are in terrible condition. There trainers dnt know all the proper moves in off set and parallel. How the heck is one to learn this properly if there are bad at it. PAM Transport is using a school that has no idea what they are doing. Those that have passed this month are ex-cdl driver's yet they had *** teaching. I'm very unsatisfied and stuck here with trainers that are lazy for one and incompetent to train the correct skill to prepare for the CDL test. So disappointed in PAM cause they choose a cheaper way to save money apparently they dnt give a ***.

During the DPS transition the instuctors screwed us all. They didnt know *** either. Thew were practicing anf making *** videos for us to watch and they knew nothing. Erick knew about the transition but he did nothing but wait to the last minute.

Then he totaly freaked out. He didnt care about us new trainees nor his trainers.

Plus Erick was always gone or to busy to talk. We had to go through chain of command to talk to Erick

C1 Truck Driving School Program Review

Very bad school, I went to Indianapolis. Have to roomate at a motel, have your own ride from the motel (Which was in the hood) to the school 7 miles away. The motel provided breakfast but thats it so for 3 weeks yiu have to buy your own food, gas money and transportation. From the first day at 6am the emplyees were extremely rude! They treated all us first week people like we were being booked in jail. Week 1 the classroom instructor was rude then week 2 you go outside to practice backing and road driving. Theres 4 people in a group and some days you wont even get a turn to drive because each training session is abiut 2 hours before break. When yiu back, they dont even teach the 45 dagree back (which is how all truckers back to docks and at truck stops) and in the road yiu get ti drive about 20 to 30 mins a day. Then on week 3 they expect you to have all the driving, backing, pre trip, and road driving down just after 1 week of trainging! Oh and they dont train you on pre trip, they hand you a paper and you have to teach yourself on your own time after school. I finally got my cdl after 4 trys and for my school to be paid for i had to choose between 2 carriers. I signed with Debore oit of Wisconsin. DeBore sent me iut with the worst trainer ever. This guy cussed me out on my first day of training because i grinded a gear! When I told him to not talk to me like that he told me to "Shut the *** up" That went on for 3 weeks and finally I cussed him back. When i went back to the office to take my test for DeBore I passed everything but the backing which C1 nor the DeBore trainer showed ne how. The boss asked me what happened, I told him that the trainer cussed me every day for 3 weeks and barely let me back at all, the boss asked me if Id go back oit for a week to train and I said yes but had to be a different trainer and the boss said no that I had to go back out with the guy who cussed me out. I said no way, so they didnt offer me a job and I jad to find my own way home. So the company didnt pay for my school and now C1 is taking me to court to pay $7,000 back. C1 is a joke and DeBore is a horrible company! You wont learn anything trust me and if yiu dont like yiur carrier yiur stuck with a huge bill. Dont go ti this school, trust me. Just read all of the reviews about them. Theres like 1 good out of 10 and that goid one I garuntee is an employ of theres.

Discourteous Hiring Practices

I recently applied at C-1 for a driver Instructor position and i have to say i am not pleased at all. I went to the interview and both the operations Manager and office Manager spoke with me. I was more than qualified and they even offered me the job pending the approval of my application. Out of courtesy i asked if they would let me know once my application was approved if they would let me know and if it wasnt approved. The next day i took in some requested paperwork only to find out that the manager went on vacation and i would have to wait til she got back. A week later i called to check on my status and was told to be patient and everything looked great. Here it is another week gone by and i finally got my answer...but they didnt inform me i saw that the job was reposted on craigs list. I turned down some other jobs based on them misleading me on the status of the job. This is bad hiring practice and i will let everyone know.

This school is horrible, located in a delapidated building! First of all, they descriminate on nationality. The people who got their CDL from there where white, however, once they recieved their CDL they had to go travel to Arkansas to participate in orientation. From people who recently started driving for Pam are having issues as employees!

Secondly, the hotel was alright, Extended Stay by Indpls, airport.

Thirdly, the school changes,"so called policies" weekly, so many get caught up in that. There are issues with instructors, people who go to this school as students are not under the age of 18, but they treat them as such.

There are, student/driver issues because female students, predominantly either get their feelings hurt or get an attitude with the instructor and issues arise. Everyone but office staff hedge had a day of either complaints, doing something they think is wrong or whatever they find! Please check your choice of school very well and read reviews on them. In gobs dice a "RUNS UP FOR CR ENGLAND" my husband went there and had his CDL in 18 days, they trash and train so you'll be in that trick more then not future CDL drivers! !!!! Goid luck!

Obviously the person that post this is an employee at C1 and read all but their own post and seen it was bad. I went to this school and studied hard even on the weekend and still barely got my cdl. Its not a college its a hands on driving school and you don't get a lot of hands on experience. The only studying that you have to do is for the permit tests and the retarded pre trip (How you have to say it). If you don't get enough hands on then you aren't going to learn much. Trust me, you will learn way more in 3 weeks with a company than C1. Companies will train you without going to a school so don't go to this $6000 school, it sucks

The over the road companies will not hire you if you haven't attended cdl training at an approved school. It is true that you will not learn very much at this school: It is only to get a cdl, but you have to attend a school to get hired in the first place.

That school does not need to be C1. I would not recommend C1 to anyone.

There are many other driver's training schools. You should probably look first to your local community college.

Dreadful

I have no problem with anything said in the OP. I had the misfortune also of attending. I had a bad feeling from the start. It begins the moment you check in. They give you all the rules and regulations at the check in desk. they talk down to you like you are a piece of dirt that needs to be swept up. They make it clear through words and acts that you are an annoyance that they had rather not be stuck with. the next day you arrive extra early at school just in time to wait and wait. Your first encounter will likely be with a 20 something year old hired paper-pushing pretty girl with and extremely bad attitude. She takes great pride in standing up front and dictating to you all the things that will get you kicked out of school. She especially likes to relate how if the hotel staff catches you having a drink, even on the weekends, they will inform the school and you will be dismissed. I don't even drink and I thought this was way overbearing. She will talk to you as if you are a petulent child any time she gets the opportunity. If no opportunity comes then she makes up one. She is far from the only one. If you get the bad luck to talk with the director John you will understand where all the staff gets this *** high and mighty attitude. these people don't give a *** about anything but pushing people through the process. Don't even bother approaching any of them with a personal issue even if it means you must leave the course if it is not rectified. They simply don't care. The instructor Brad was the only member of the staff that I spoke with that seemed like a decent guy. That is if you can get passed his caterwauling country music at 6 am. Needless to say I did not last long at the school. When I was told to leave I smiled all the way back to the hotel to clear out my stuff.

C1 use the biggest unjust discriminatory place I have ever experienced. I have currently have attorneys as well as the EEOC to handle a discrimination case solely based on the fact that I was female. I know this to be true because there were men who has been there for at least five or six weeks and I was asked to leave after quitting my job to attend c1. Walter Bell should be burned at the stake. And John and Rick are both jokes and jerks for leadership. If you're considering a CDL please please please do not waste the time or the energy inquiring at c1. In order to get you to enroll and then they dismiss you from the program and attempt to force you to pay before being dismissed from the program. If you are considering see one run like *** in the opposite direction!!!!!!!

Even though I graduated from this school I wouldn't send my worst enemy here to get a CDL. Unprofessional idiots that can't get a job with their own CDL so they work in this *** Everyone there treats you like a piece of *** from the very start.

The Silverback gorilla named Walter thinks he is god over you because it's all he has in his pathetic life. Getting a CDL is not what it seems. If having your CDL was such a great thing then why would all these instructors be work there.

Go back and learn a trade or take some online classes. The trucking industry is a *** job and one of the most disrespected occupations even in its own industry.
